I'm super excited because I'm currently winning 3 auctions, so I'm thinking up prompts for people...

I was deciding for myself which charities to send some moolah to when the news was breaking, and then this auction came up! I thought... talk about killing two birds with one stone! This is a win-win-win in my book, since (a) koalas win, (b) the fandom wins, and (c) I win, too! So in my mind, I have a number I was already planning on giving to koala rescue and eucalyptus reforestation, and now I'm looking at all the SSHGers in the mix, hoping I can convince a few to write some Severosmerta if (crosses fingers) I can hold onto these auctions. I've definitely already been outbid on a fourth auction...

I've been outbid in the two I went for, but I am wondering if this particular person meant to bid on everything and intended to win it all... I'm terrible at auctioning.

Oh... like they maybe placed too many bids simultaneously, and might regret it?

Well, maybe they bid on everything, with the idea of raising more money. :)

Maybe so! Hopefully so!

I'm terrible at auctioning, too. The egalitarian in me really likes the raffle ticket system wherein $1 = one raffle ticket, and then there's a draw. That way, people can have a chance to win something marvelous even if they're not financially able to buy $50 in tickets, you know?

But there's no right and wrong way to do it, and as long as Australia wins, I'm happy.

LOL. Raffles or any sort of game of chance make me even less inclined to participate if my goal is buying/obtaining the thing. But yeah! Increase the moolah!

Ah, so you like the SURE THING. I can respect that!

I also don't like pinatas

I will NEVER understand that. I love me a piñata! I have been known to gift piñatas to people I suspect need to hit stuff.

It isn't the hitting, its the wild stomp on the other people's finger scrabbling in the dirt for loot furor that feels all the more awful when at least one person is crowded out.
